In the modern organisation, where hierarchies are steadily blurring or disappearing altogether, it is an almost daily occurrence that you need someone to do something for you over whom you have no formal authority: they most likely work for a different boss, in a different team, in a different part of the business; they are time poor and overwhelmed with their own priorities. Why should they take notice of you?
Secrets of successful influencing will show you how you can influence without taking authority, by taking more care in planning the conversation and bringing more flexibility to the way you conduct it.

This has a cumulative effect. Output, quality, service, safety, health, relationships, staff turnover, and many other things suffer, creating a problem for business and sad for employees.

Just when we were getting the hang of giving public presentations the rules change. We are now being asked to present online. Presenting via video link can be daunting at first. How do I prepare? How do I engage my audience? What about body language and eye contact? How do I control my nerves? Should I use power point? The list goes on. In this three-hour webinar we will answer all these questions and more.
In 2013 I was invited to speak in China. I flew there, ran a series of communication skills workshops over a few days and flew back. On my return I was asked to continue the workshops but this time online via video conference. What I discovered was, it worked. Now we are all presenting online and we have Zoom, Teams, Google, Bluejeans, Adobe connect, Webex and more, to assist us.
Our next 'How to present online' webinar will be announced shortly. Please click the link below for more information and to book places.
The so-called 'soft' skills actually feel really hard - hard to get right. And in application they are anything but soft - they are the key to getting performance out of team members, by making them feel significant, understood, and clear about what you want from them why it's in their interest to focus on that.
Dealing with people virtually makes skills feel more challenging - but there are some simple things you can do to make them just as effective as they would be face to face.
The workshop will offer a balance of theory and practice, giving you some easy to apply models and then the space to apply them supported by a coaching pair or small group.
The next 'Essential people skills for team leaders' webinar will be on the announced soon. Please click the link below to find out more.

This workshop will take you through helpful models which will clarify your thinking and enable you to plan diligently how first you and then your team can get a sense of priority and focus, and how you can use a flexible approach to delegating which takes account of the level of competence and motivation of each individual, and still allows you to delegate effectively.
Practical individual and group exercises will allow you to practise the concepts and get feedback while on the workshop, so you're not left alone to implement everything 'cold'.
